Yes. Because the Kompressor uses a simple one-knob design, the amount of compression depends on the output level of the microphone. A low-output microphone such as a Shure SM7B or ribbon microphone will generally produce less compression, while a higher-output microphone such as a Shure Beta 58 or Beyerdynamic M88 will trigger more compression at the same setting.
