Yes. The Kompressor is particularly useful with low-output microphones such as the Shure SM7B and many ribbon microphones. The amount of compression depends on the microphone’s output level, so with a low-output microphone you may need to turn the control further towards More to achieve more noticeable compression. The Kompressor also provides up to +25 dB of gain when no compression is applied.
